ADULT PROBATION

Court Services Officers’ primary role of service is accountability to the court and the court process. As soon as possible after conviction, the court shall order the Court Services Officer to prepare a PreSentence Investigation Report and risk needs assessment. Once sentencing occurs, Court Services Officers may then take the role of supervision and monitoring of the supervision plan set forth by the court. Court Services Officers may find themselves acting as a facilitator, monitor, enforcer, community partner, counselor and service provider.

 

JUVENILE PROBATION

Court Services Officers primary role of service is accountability to the court and the court process. After a juvenile has been adjudicated to be a juvenile offender, the court will generally order a Court Services Officer to conduct a PreSentence Investigation Report and risk needs assessment. Once sentencing occurs, Court Services Officers may then take the role of supervision and monitoring of the supervision plan set forth by the court. In addition, Court Services Officers may find themselves acting as facilitator, monitor, enforcer, community partner, counselor and service provider.

 

CHILD IN NEED OF CARE

The primary role of a CINC CSO is that of a liaison between the Judge and all other parties to a case.  As part of that role, a CSO in the CINC department will monitor cases to make sure that court orders are being followed.  A CINC CSO will spend a lot of time fielding questions regarding cases from social workers, parents and other parties.  The CINC CSO is many times the one constant throughout the life of a case, CINC CSO’s participate in various staffings for cases which they are assigned.  On a number of cases that are not assigned to an agency, the CSO is responsible for the day to day case management of a case.    

 

 

DOMESTIC

DOMESTIC COURT or FAMILY LAW COURT- Courts dealing with divorce, paternity, custody, child support and Protection from Abuse/Stalking orders.  Family Court Services provides support for the Family Law Department in doing  home visits, mediation, urinalysis, and Child Custody Investigations.  

 

They also assist in the screening and processing of Petitions for Protection from Abuse and Stalking, and manage the docket during hearings.  Family Court Services works with other agencies and individuals in the community to meet the needs of those they serve.
